  • feeding apple/cherry trees

    i planted two smallish apples trees last year and a small cherry earlier this year. should i be feeding them this year...and if so what and how often?

    A dressing of a slow release fertiliser, such as bonemeal once a year.

      We've given our apple trees some liquid seaweed.

          i give mine sulphate of amonia around this time - as it incourages them to set fruit. I use sulphate of amonia alot.

              Sulphate of ammonia is very high in nitrogen - this encourages leafy growth, not fruit setting.

                I have given mine bonemeal and potash and a two inch mulch all around their base. They had that lot in March along with a prune.
