I've got a problem with a new Williams pear tree and a Nectarine planted in Autumn. They both have red blisters on the leaves and the leaves on the pear are curled.
I treated all my fruit trees with Bordeaux Mix mid January to prevent peach leaf curl and other fungal infections, but I have this problem with just two of the 10 trees.
I thought to start with it was peach leaf curl and online there is evidence that it can affect other trees, but then I've also found some images of pear leaf mite, which also look similar. I have a peach tree which is unaffected, cherry and apricot trees all of which are fine.... it is just the nectarine and one of the pear trees. The conference pear tree is also fine.
Not sure what I've got now or how to help.
All the new pear tree leaves emerging are red blistered and curled, and even some of the new blossom is pink tinged on the edges...
The nectarine leaves also have the red blisters on them, but they are not curling..
Does anyone have any ideas? Should I treat again with Bordeaux Mix? I thought I would pick off all the affected leaves tomorrow and dispose of them, but not sure what else to try...
