  • Is it too late to plant...

...my roses and a couple lavenders? i've picked a few up cheap & wondering if im too late to put them in the ground or should leave them in their pots???

Providing they are hardened off, I would say they should be fine planted out from now on. Just prepare your site well and firm them in well to prevent wind rock. I am sure if i am mistaken someone more knowlegable will be along shortly- but thats what I would do personally

Get them planted, they should be fine as long as they haven't been kept in a greenhouse.

Nope no green houses (I wish) they've all been sitting on my patio for a month or so (3 - 4 for the lavanders ah-hem). I'll get them tomorrow now - tea time for the monster child now

They don't need hardening off at this time of year, and autumn is sometimes even better than spring for planting: the soil is warm when in spring it can still be decidedly cold
