  • Tiny flies on my thyme!!!

I found today some really tiny flies on my thyme plant!!!! they are no more than 1-2mm of length, but there are about 20 of them in a small 6" pot=[ I deployed my old faithful fly trapping technique ( small dollop of home made honey in a shallow dish and have only caught 2-3 so far. Any ideas guys???

Is it indoors? If so, I'd stand it outside and hope they get blown away.

If they're mostly in the compost it might be worth trying to drown them out by standing the pot in a deep bucket full of water overnight. It won't hurt the plant as long as you don't forget it.

Right I stood my plant out side for the day and still no luck so i tried submerging the pot in water for a few hour and still no luck!!! They are now small flies on all my indoor herbs!!!! I was thinking did they come from the manure and compost mix I used to plant with?????? And would I have to start again as I dont want in the up coming winter season=[
