What's the best way to save, and store, seeds from this years French Marigld to use next year?

I know it's a really dumb question, and I probably should know the answer, but how do I know when they're ready (ripe enough) to save?Comment

when the flower heads have dried out, youre left with a tufty sack type thing. Pull on the tufty bits, they're your seeds, they have a black/dark brown tip at the bottom, they're sort of similar to dandelion seeds without the umbrella at the top.Comment

Like Taff said, you need to leave them on the plant until they look completely dead. Dry and strawy.Comment

I have saved mine & tested to make sure they would seed. The flower heads look dead & have no moisture the second you touch them they get crumbly. Put them in kitchen paper then into a paper envelope until next season.Comment
