  • Help with Freesia

I was made a present of 100 Freesia bulbs, obviously I couldn't plant them all, I gave plenty away, but the problem is, all I've got is plenty of very long tulip like leaves, with nothing that even looks like a flower, or even a flower stem, its the first time I've planted them, and as usual, I'd hate the idea of planting them and then doing something wrong that would cause them not to grow

They are fickle things freesias, and in my experience take ages to flower. When did you plant them?

Mine have flowered & finished. I had about 25 bulbs but only got a couple of flowers. I'll keep them for next year, they might improve

Out of the 120 I planted in spring, 8 are in leaf, but no flowers yet...

Anyone else had a bad freesia year?

I planted about 30/35 bulbs in various tubs and baskets about the beginning of April, and all I've got is 14 growing, and I feed and water them as and when I'm feeding and watering all our other flowers, do I need to change anything, or do I just keep doing what I'm doing.
