  • Pretty weed!

I'm hoping that someone can identify this for me please? I think it's a weed as it sprung up where we dumped some weeds and topsoil from our veg patch a few months ago. I think it's really quite pretty and the bees seem to love it!

    Weed! How very dare you!!!

It's Echinops. We have 3 different types of these at home in our borders. The bees do love them.

oooooops!!! In my defence I am entirely ignorant about flowers (although I'm sure that's obvious! )

Thanks for that, I'm going to try to transfer them to our flower borders.

If it's growing in the wrong place, it's a weed

Good point! We're aiming to do a long border of pollinator-attracting plants alongside the veg patch so having a few more of these would definitely be a good thing.

weeds and vermin are only wild things where people dont want them.

I have a Teazle that's moved in at the back of a flower a border, I think it's beautiful and it's very welcome! I'm very impressed that it'smanaged to plant itself in just the right place
