  • Help identifying this pretty flower please

    Hi guys,

This lovely little flower has appeared in my flower bed. I have no idea what it is or how it came to be here (I suspect a bird brought it along). The flower is about 1.5 cm long and there are several stems growing up.

    Any suggestions?

    Many thanks

is it blue? Could be skullcap? However it seems a little tall for that ..will try again.....
BUT you live in east anglia and it could be the very rare spear leaved skullcap? otherwise i am stumped.........

I think it may be Acanthus - Bears breeches but the flowers are much more blue than mine..

Oh! I have just read that the flowers are 1.5cm - is that each flower or the spikes? Bears breeches can grow to around 4ft

OOh that's the one. Thank you. Mind you, have googled it and the text says 'likes marshy swamplands' and trust me, there is nothing marsh or swamp like about my flower border .
