Variegated Comfrey - anyone grown it?

I was leafing through a book on plants for 'difficult' gardens, in the library, and it suggested Variegated Comfrey for dark dry locations. I quite liked the look of the plant in the photo, but wondered if any grapes had grown this variety or had any 'buyer beware' experiences of it?

Don't know about this one... my comfrey (Russian, Bocking 14) thrives in semi-shade but it does like to be moist not dry
