    Yes!
My mum has a 2fter I grew for her and I have about 10 x 4" babies from seed grown last year.
Seed was collected in the autumn and sown in the spring (mutipurpose compost in g/h). They managed about 2-4 inches in the first year and haven't yet come into leaf but appear to be well.
Sow them now and you should see something by mid summer...but a long wait for anything resembling a tree!

I grew some a few years back. Most of them got to about 6' in the first year (which surprised me!). I did keep them in the greenhouse though ...

I have three that I grew from seed about 10 years ago. Two are still quite small because they are in pots. The third one I planted out a couple of years ago and it is now nearly 6 ft tall and I had hoped when I saw the pink buds on it that it was going to flower this year - but sadly No. The buds unfurled into leaves. But then the man at the RHS said it would probably take 15 years to flower from seed, so I must be patient.

I got some seeds as a swap from someone on here. I've now got about half a dozen seedlings in the greenhouse. Came up really easily.

Fifteen years to flower though! Patience, patience...
