  • Water Charges........

Grapes if you have an allotment are you a council or self managed society member

    and

what is your annual charge or share for the water bill.

i've been tasked with sourcing costs to enable us to set a fee for new plot lets by the
FRIENDS OF MACKWORTH ALLOTMENTS AND COMMUNITY GARDEN.
Got involved about 2 years ago in the original requests to council for plots have secured some old space with a £50000 grant for the works from community spaces.
now we have formed a friends of group and at a meeting last week i went to the toilet and when i came back they said "say yes phil" i said yes and found i am now vice chair of the society.....no more toilet breaks for me..lol
this will be a battle from the heart

We are metered, non-council, and each pay £8 a year (I don't know how many plots we have though... about 40?)

I'm not a member yet, our local allotment is council run, water is provided, no extra charge, it's included in the rental ( £5 per rod per year) all 5 rod plots.
        regards

No water provided, therefore no charge. We all just collect rainwater, and make do.

Same as SarzWiz, all our water is free from above . Plots gone up slightly this year to (I think) £22 per full sized plot.

Some of us live in the past, always talking about back then. Some of us live in the future, always planning what we are going to do. And, then there are those, who neither look behind or ahead, but just enjoy the moment of right now.

Which one are you and is it how you want to be?

We share one water tap between two plots.

Don't know what the exact water charge is, but I pay £9 per year for a half plot and that includes water charges and membership of the allotment association.

Council allotment - water supplied to troughs around the site for watering can use only. No taps - hosepipes and pumps are banned. This works well and is not abused. (Apart from one individual who apparently laid a mains supply in to his site when the Council was originally putting the water supply in!!)

Water included in the cost of rent of £18 per half plot, 53 plots on our site but the rent is the same on all the sites in the area.
