  • Hello from Biggs in Farnborough, Hampshire

I don't have a large garden but am interested in potting small fruit trees and shrubs. Any advice on what plants and pots to use would be well received. I also have a tagine-shaped pot (approx 18inch diametre) and am wondering what would grow well in it. Many thanks. Biggs

Hello Biggs and very warm welcome to the vine from Jinny Cat & Me. Why not sow some cut and come again salad leaves in you tagine-shaped pot!. I grow all my fruit tree's in pot's as big as I can fit them into. Most of them are in tall long tom's.

Thankyou so much for the welcome messages - you're all so friendly, I was quite overcome! It certainly got my gardening juices flowing again - I'm going to be bold and buy some long toms (thankyou ginger ninger) and plant a Red Valentine apple tree together with a Crimson Bonfire patio peach tree. It'll be a first so wish me luck and I'll let you know how they survive!
