same advice we give to everyone starting out:

- make a list of what you like to eat
- buy seeds
- mark your plot into at least 4 beds (I do spuds, legumes, alliums & brassicas)
- make some kind of planting plan: what and where

don't be daunted, it's as easy or as difficult as you make it

Where are the weeds, I can not see any weeds from the photo you posted..every body has to have some weeds
