  • Cabernet Sauvignon grape vine?

A friend of mine has just bought a Cabernet Sauvignon grape vine from Woolworths for £2.49!
I have asked him to get me one the next time he is in Woolies. My favourite wine is made from this grape but acording to what I have been reading the grapes are thick skinned (bit like me!) and not very productive.

Anyone out there grow this cultivar? Will it be ok in a pot in greenhouse? Are the grapes sweet enough to eat?
I may finish up growing an eating grape as well!

Cabernet Sauvignon in my opinion needs a lot of sun-shine and heat to ripen them so a greenhouse will suffice, wouldn't even bother trying it outside.

We have one in Italy and it is indeed very vigorous and productive though this can differ with clone.

The grapes are sweet when ripened but not overly so cause its a wine grape.
