  • Tomato leaves keep curling up

My tomato plants were doing so well - they're in individual pots (might be moving soon so don't want them in the garden). I water them every 2 days - do you think they might need it more often? I'm scared of them getting root rot. Also - they keep blowing over! If I have them in the conservatory it's too hot at the moment - but outisde they keep blowing away lol.

Oh dear - what went wrong - they were such amazing little plants!!!

What size pots are they in?

Try lifting the pots - if they feel light they are dry. You need a fairly big pot for a full sized tomato.

That is nowhere near big enough for a decent size tomato. To crop well they need to be in around 10 inch pots.

My alicante are in morrisons flower buckets and doing very well at the moment. They are over 4ft tall with plenty of tomatoes formed. They are fed every day in the evening and watered every day in the mornings, seems to be working so far. I do have other tomatoes but with them it was a case of trying to utilise every available space and the largest pots I could allow were the flower buckets.
