    Sqaushes dehydrated

    Hi guys
    I have transplanted pumkings, marrows and courgettes into the ground. The place i have put them i=s in broad constant sunshine, however since it has benn hopt recently they start flopping over and loose all the water. Once i spend a minute watering each one they start looking heathy again,n so it seems they are dehydrated and i am a bit confused why since it only happens when i transplant them. So i am wondering why do they do this, and how can i stop this.
    Dont judge a plant by it's pot.

    It's because you have just transplanted them.

    They soon pick up - just water them in well, and if you can shade them [I put a net over mine for a few days] then they will soon sort themselves out.

      I always transplant into a puddle of water in the hole, Greasyfire - hot weather measures here. Plant with a stake by the main stem so you can aim the water at the right spot when the plant is full of leaves. Once you have watered thoroughly give the plant a mulch of damp newspaper covered with dry soil, to try and keep the moisture in.

        Mine flop too initially, but as Zaz sez, they soon get well again. I sometimes stick the cut-off top of a water bottle next to the main stem; top down, then water into the 'cup' bit so the water is channelled more effectively.

          exactly what's been said already ^^ but also: try not to plant out in the hot sunshine. Wait until after 6 when it's a bit cooler
