  • Do I need help???

I took voluntary retirement last year from a job as cabin crew, and one of the things I was really looking forward to was spending more time on my lottie. Well that happened but.......... my housework/decorating and home garden have gone to pot and I am absolutely besotted with my allotment. I can't begin to tell you how much I enjoy being there and just wondered if anyone feels like me. It is THE best thing I have ever taken on!!!!!!!! Am I mad or do others feel the same joy from their little patch of heaven. I think I may need professional help!! I am thinking of moving house contents and husband down to Lottie as much more organised.

    Nope- I think that's fine!

...you're like a kid with a new toy!

You will probably find that as it becomes Autumn/winter, you'll start to concentrate on your home again.
In the mean time, your wonderful hubby should enjoy seeing and sharing in your new found pleasure...you will eventually find a balance

Here's to lots of BBQ's on the lottie!

Wow, Bobbin - you certainly are in the right place with us lot!
I started getting serious about my lottie when I got all stressed out at work - I used to plan it out in my mind when I couldn't sleep. Still do.
As for the range of plants I am growong - if it is something I like to eat and is a bit different, I'm in there!!!
Whooops - now what are the dogs getting up to?

Hang on its my 3rd year! Still ga ga over it. Not a BBQ type of lottie. Maybe glass of wine after daily toil. Despite crap winter no decorating done! Hubby a bit miffed when he arrives from work to find me on Lottie until 20.45 . Hmmm, bad wifey. See said I needed help!. When you get a bigger buzz fom your sweetcorn germinating than receiving a £25.00 premium bond, well bring on the men in white coats.

I actually clean the chicken house better and more often than my own! Someone wise once said, no-one ever lay on her death-bed and said "I wish I'd done more housework"

Nice one Bobbin! I only have my quite small garden and 6x4 greenhouse to grow a few things in but it has helped to keep me on an even keal since I lost my job back in April. I know what you are saying about your lottie taking over your time, my garden has done the same for me. At least it has given me a sence of purpuse and a huge sence of satisfaction and yes it is my little bit of heaven on earth! I can hardly wait till I can start to harvest some of the fruits of my labour (drool drool smacks lips) and says wake up stop dreaming it's not time yet! lol

As for you moving your OH down to the lottie then thats a good idea, as you say it makes sence keeping all your life easy to manage! I just wonder if your OH will see it that way? Sham on him ( I say tongue in cheek) if you cant get him on side leave him to look after the house while you while away the hours on your lottie! All the best and happy growing!!!

I hear you on that one! House work can always wait our green babies can't! They need to be tended when they need it, not like a pile of ironing, which can always be done one thing at a time as you need it if needs be. or a dust and vacume around. If a plant needs water then it needs it now not in a couple of days! If a message on the vine needs reading or an answer, then I say do it now, take your time and enjoy. The ironing or whatever can go take a run and jump for a while! BIG GRINN
