  • Advice for AL....

AL has contacted me all upset as she is losing her plot. The reason is that she forgot to pay the rent in March and as the 2 reminders sent never reached her the first she knew was when she received the letter saying she was being kicked off. She has spoken to them asking if she can pay now but they won't budge.
    Any suggestions for her?

    Oh bl*ddy h*ll! That's all she needs.

As if the poor love hasn't had enough sh*te to contend with recently.

Dunno what to say, to be honest!

If the allotment people haven't received a signature of delivery, surely she can claim mitigating circumstances and appeal, due to not being officially informed though receipt of an invoice?? I'm no legal eagle but would be worth contesting it, especially if it's a Council owned site as they lurve the dotted I's and crossed T's if it's their way.

Surely she will have been to the allotment since March though? In which case someone would have reminded her?

Take the cash to the council and get a receipt for the rent.

Get her local councillor involved immediately - they can work miracles behind the scenes.

                          Seriously.....

Blimey, poor gal but as Snadger says, has she been along since March - to protect her land? If so and the land is being maintained then surely they can't do this - especially as she has offered to pay the due rent!

But with admin head on - she would know when her rent is due surely?

Good luck AL, I hope it gets sorted!!

As Jeanie has said get her councillor or MP involved, go to the local paper, radio station let them know the reasons behind her forgetting to renew her rent, cause a stink that won't go away. Show these people up for what they really are .

Let Mo know how much she's loved and missed by all of use on the vine, that were all thinking and rooting for her, tell her not to let the flipping piglet's get her down.
I hope it get's sorted out sooner rather than later, (((((((BIG HUG'S MO))))))).

Just saw this, that stinks. Surely in her circumstances they would have been aware that things might get forgotton. Her site manager must be able to help.
Hope things turn out ok. Hugs Mo.
