  • pea moth

I was going to cover my peas with environmesh to avoid the pea moth but as the flowers have now come out I was wondering if they are self fertile as this would also keep the bees out?!

Interesting question....no botanist I'm afraid but,,I know that peas are strongly inbreeders and unlikely to cross pollinate. That I suspect is a posssible indication?

...however I can be sure that the pea tendrils will be strait through that mesh if it is close.

Peas are self-pollinating. I'm going to hang curtains over my own rows again soon, bladdy maggots

They don't need insects to set seeds. Inf act, if you want to cross-pollinate peas, you need a scalpel! The 'interesting' bits are sealed off from the insects.
