  • Is my allotment cursed

I am beginning to wonder if my lottie is cursed. Over the last two or three weeks i have had my shed broken into twice(luckily nothing was taken either time) so all it cost was the repair but last friday i recieved a call from the local council to tell me that someone had kindly parked a 38 ton lorry in it after slipping off of a track. So just think on if you feel that allotments are hard work

    Oh no Goml.
Thats not good. But in all things i try to find a positive. Can you get the lorry driver to contribute to the plot in some way? As a reimbersment for any damage caused.
Perhaps he could purcase new plants or pay to have the plot ploughed for you.
Be thankful that it is not in the harvesting season and that all your lovely crops were not ruined.
Lots of lotties round here do not lock their sheds due the the curiosity of local youths. They keep things hidden around the plot in bins buried in the ground with just the lid showing - looks like an abandoned dustbin lid!
    Hope no damage was done.

Hello Getoffmyland, no your allotment is not cursed. The gremlins have just got in there. We all get a turn off them. Just keep kicking their jaxies til they give in and go ! Hope it's soon

Thanks guys i have just been down to the council office and could be better off because of it the council are on the case with the lorry's owners to get a lovely new fence paid for by them and i have just sent in the compo listy for the stuff i lost. It just had to be in the only area that i had really invested in. Still Ken Muir fruits will appreciate the order.

We used to get vandals on our Lottie in Brighton...locks and fences were just a challenge, so we put up a sign that said 'Beware Bees Nesting - May Swarm if Disturbed'. Seemed to do the trick.
