Celery seeds

I am just about to go and make some cucumber relish with the 3,000,000 cukes I have. Recipe I plan to use calls for celery seeds....needless to say I dont have any - are they crucial? What can I use in their place?

And also I am supposed to use white vinegar - as expected I don't have any - will white wine vinegar do the same job?

You can use actual celery (grated so not stringy) or, most vegetable stock cubes have celery/celery seed in, so you could stick one of them in? Or use some lovage if you have some. Or do without, you won't notice it if you've never had it

As for vinegar, white wine will do as well as white so far as I'm aware.
