Yellow pages and look for a local scaffolder or plant hire company.

Failing that do an industrial estate tour and collect some pallets and make it out of that.

same as been said, apparently scaffold firms get rid of any not to clever ones,on account of health and safety, you might get better joy by door knocking than a phone, also keep the eyeys peeled for anyone having extentions built,go and have a word with the builder, you might just get a lead, where as the phone, the office girl will be to busy to go and find out for you,

        Cheap scaffolding!!!!
Our tower cost 2000 euros - I don't fancy your chances much!!!
You would perhaps be better off to stick with pallets.
        (but good luck anyway)

I telephoned all of my local equipment hire companies. One said he had never been asked before but still quoted me £8 each for a secondhand board. Another said he had supplied them for raised beds and wanted £1 per foot and I had to collect. As I had already priced them new on Ebay for £13 and his secondhand ones were 13ft they were not exactly cheap!! You could try your local hire companies but I would go in rather than telephone like I did - you might have better luck.
