  • Just a little peeved

Last year on Christmas Eve we had the neighbours (family of 4) round for Indian Takeaway, so this year they invited us back. Yesterday OH had a text from the chap, they haven't space for us, so can they come to us again?

Of course he said yes, so I've said he can clean house (to my standard, not his), organise and clear up. One of our cats is also suffering from an upset tummy that so far has baffled the vet, but involves vigilance and lots of cleaning, which he will not do. OK, so we cope, but it could be very embarrasing with visitors.
Also with 2 sons back from uni, Japanese daughter in their room so they are camping out in the living/dining room, we haven't got much space either!

Their house is exactly the same as ours, so I can't help feeling they could have moved stuff around a bit. I did ask OH if they would like to borrow our dining table and chairs .

I'm sure we will have a great time, but with my neck still causing major problems, and knowing I WILL end up doing more than I should, I'm feeling a bit peeved after thinking all I would need to do is choose what I wanted from the menu!

Moan over, goes to make a LONG list of jobs that NEED to be done before we could possibly have visitors

I could not live without a garden, it is my place to unwind and recover, to marvel at the power of all growing things, even weeds!

It seems to me you should just let them 'take you as they find you'? Tell them about your poorly cat and ask them to watch their step!

The one day vomity bug should do the trick!!!!

Actually- why not just go and say yr OH had somehow forgotten about the dog poo in the house ( typical ) and would they be comfortable with it . Might put them off, but if not- just step back, chill out and enjoy yourself. Tis Xmas!!!

Yeah, sorry - my OH forgot about the dog, children, adults and guest all crammed in - it seems he can't count.

Think it's a bit of a cheek myself, am sure you would happily put up with their muddle. Sounds like they just can't be *rsed to do their cleaning and is more convenient to come round yours again.
