  • Horseradish dug straight from plot

    Hi

I've dug some horseradish today, enough for about 20 grapes.

    Instructions [to keep it simple].

If you want any, PM me and I'll send you my address.

Once you get that, send the following:

An A5 jiffy envelope - don't seal it, just pop sellotape/masking tape to seal it - i'll need the proper seal to end it back to you.

Inside, pop your address and a Large Letter stamp [52p]. Any larger, you'll need to work out the postage, width will be less than 25mm though.

I'll put the horseradish inside, in damp plastic bag wrapped in kitchen roll, seal it and send it straight back to you.

The offer is open until the end of Sept or until I run out.

You'll need to pop the root straight into water until it grows roots and then plant it out.

This is very invasive, but some people like it! If you can contain it, or grow it in a deep pot - it should quickly grow deep flavoursome roots for you.

Any left at the end of September will be be disposed of.

    Cheers

    Hi Zaz

I wondered if you can propogate comfrey bocking 14 the same way? Is it the right time of the year to. Should I wait until the spring?
I have a small clump but want to spread over a good size area.

    Cheers
    Shush

I have no idea; but I don't see why not.

I am transferring my bocking 14 to the back of the plot; where I have been chucking old weeds/potato haulms/ other debris. Mainly to cover it and to suck the goodness out of it to transfer to my new bucket system and ultimately crops from next spring onwards.

      New bucket system:

I am putting buckets around the plot [furthest from the shed], to capture all comfrey trimmings, nettles, couch grass and mare's tail. All will be used in difference ways next year.

        Hi

        Do you have any left?

If so, can you save me some? Could you send me your address?

        thanks

        Morris
