      Seed Potatoes

      Calling all grapes
I spoke to Kevin who owns my local GC and asked him about seed potatoes. He will be stocking first and second earlies, early and late maincrop. He will be selling them from mid Feb and can sell by 3 kg bags or individual tubers. He wasn't able to lay his hands on his full list (which I know contains British Queen and Rooster) but will let me have it as soon as he can - before Christmas he says.
Explained the problem my fellow grapes were having in obtaining small numbers of tubers and he would be quite happy to complete any orders you all may have - provided I do all the necessary - collating orders, sending them out etc, which I am more than happy to do.
So I will publish his list as soon as it's in my grubby paws and if you wish to avail yourself of the chance to buy small numbers of tubers of a range of varieties, just drop me a P.M.
      Cheers

I seem to be forever punting Alan Roman but just in case it's not universally known, he sells a seriously big range of varieties in 1.5kg nets. I think that that would be about 15 tubers on average, would it not? I know it's not exactly what Andrew, for example, wants but 15 might be shareable with neighbours, friends. It's 15 at a time I'm looking for but I've recently discovered that Tuckers sell 3kg nets at same price as 1.5k nets from Alan Roman (in most cases £3.30 )- if I'm not horribly mistaken. I'll be going for THAT, even if I have to donate the excess to the deserving poor.

                Superstar - moi ???

Only trying to solve what would appear to be a fairly widespread problem. Will let you all know his varieties as soon as poss. In the meantime, if any of you have particular varieties you would like, drop me a PM as soon as you can and I can collate any requests and if there is enough interest in a particular variety , and Kev wasn't going to stock it, I might be able to persuade him to do so - he is very obliging ( though maybe it's because he gets to prune my holly tree, all 45ft of it, every second year to make up his Xmas wreaths)
                Cheers

                  Sorry 1.5KG still too much.

I’m growing in three black dustbins and want to grow three different types so four tubers of each would be more than enough. I know that it sounds rather picky but 1.5Kg is still too many for me.
Most of my neighbours have decking or grass and weeds that elephants could hide in.
"Rat”. Your offer does sound fantastic! Especially for people like me who want to grow a range of potatoes but need less than half a dozen of each to grow in our back gardens.
