  • Passion Flower

I have two passion flower plants growing up a south facing wall of my house, growth as usual has been very vigorous with lots of flowers and now lots of forming fruit. I am worried that there is something wrong as lots of the leaves are turning yellow, this has happened in previous years, but seems alot worse this year. The remainder of the leaves seem a lighter green than normal, instead of the normal rich green!

    Is this a feeding issue?
I have been feeding with a liquid seaweed feed, once a week.

Also the leaves recently have folded up along their length, I did think this was due to the heat recently, but seeing as its cooled now, I'm not too sure

Please any help with this would be appreciated

Hi Bigstu, which passionflower are you growing? If it's passiflora caerulea (the common blue & white one) I'd say they are pretty indestructible, mine is, & it will be O.K. Mine looked almost dead this spring but I cut off the dead leaves & stems & now it is massive & I only give it a tot of tomato feed when I remember. I would just cut off the yellow leaves & see how it goes, it's possible that the heat has got to it, check the leaves that are curling up to see if there are any aphids or leaf rolling sawfly larvae on the underside & remove & keep it well watered.
Into every life a little rain must fall.
