swap cucumber seeds

i have some seeds that need to germinate at 20 plus degrees, i put them in my boiler cupboard seems to be working so far,

i thought about that but twhen i went to have a look in the boiler cuboard the temp was no different to the room outside )-8

Germination is a bit erratic with Cues. I get two sheets of kitchen paper, get them nice and wet (but not flooded, if you see what I mean). Put one sheet in the bottom of a Tupperware box, seeds next, then the second sheet, and put it somewhere warm. (boiler / airing cupboard sounds good).

Check it at least once a day; once the little root appears (which is before the leaves) pot them up in nicely damp compost, put the pot in a plastic bag tied at the top (so it doesn't dry out) and put on a windowsill, but out of direct sun. As soon as the leaves come up give it some more light or it will get leggy, and also give it some air - keeping the plastic bag on will keep it humid around the plant, but it will go mouldy if the bag is left sealed for days & weeks! (Its pretty warm now, but when I do this earlier in the year I seal up the bag at night; I wouldn't bother too much at this time of year)

Its going to take about 4 weeks until you've got much of a plant though ... and then a bit more until it fruits. You might be better off getting a plant from a garden centre, or from someone here who has some spare. The seed will keep until next year
