    Silly question?

Can you eat the pods from sweat peas, I am sure we did many years ago as kids but someone told me they are not edible. They look tasty....

Not sure which type they are I bought them as plugs from the local garden centre.

    Thanks in advance.

I have just read a site that says the seeds are poisonous - so don't eat the pods!

Hi Mandy, nope you can't. but what you can do is select flowers that you like for either colour or scent & tie some bright wool around the stem & then save the seed from these for next year. Either seperate them in to colours or save your own mixture ready to plant them in the autumn for an extra early show next year.

        Thanks Lesley Jay,

Just as well I checked before munching into them! I was sure we ate them as kids but it could have been something else, the old memory is getting worse!!

I will save the seeds Nick and sow again, they are very pretty and the honey bee's love them.

Thanks again, hopefuly next year I will be able to help some other vines with all the info I get from here!
