  • Floury new potatoes?

    Hi all,

i've got some super new potatoes, International Kidney, which we've nearly all finished. My question is, they are now, when boiled, falling apart and becoming floury on the outside. is this just because they are past their best, or am I boiling them too long (don't think so) or is there something else anyone can suggest?

The first few diggings seemed fine, I suspect they are past their best, but any advice gratefully received! My Charlottes are also showing signs of this, too.

Anital if the potatoes are starting to drop the best way to cook them is to steam them. Welcome to the grapevine! I nearly forgot!

Cheers! I thought as much, but wanted some confirmation!

Thanks for the welcome; have been lurking for ages, thought I'd finally jump in and post!

            Hi Anital,

My Wife hails from Kidder. Internatinal Kidney are the variety that is sold as Jersey Royals in the supermarkets just for info (well they were once but mybe a bit different now as they save there own seed year on year)
