We're growing Goldfield (and our other climbing beans) up bamboo cane wigwams - well they're doing so well now they're up to the top of the poles and waving about! Should we cut the lead shoots off them or leave them to grow?

You can pinch out the growing tip but I just leave mine.

I have read that you should cut off the tips when they reach the top of the supports. In the past I have threaded the shoots bak into the wigwam assuming they will grow up inside it. Thinking about it though it is probably more logical to cut out the tips to encourage flowering side shoot to form so that is what I plan to do this year
