  • Strawberry question

Ive taken delivery of 12 strawberry plants, ive put them into hanging baskets. My question is, how cold can it be before I have to either cover them, or bring them in over night?

I would have thought they should be ok as they are, unless they are starting to flower. Have you kept them indoors and just put them outside?

Mine are outside in pots and in the ground; year round. And we are in the Midlands.

I received them in the post last weekend from Dobbies in Devon. I guess they were in a greenhouse before?

Ive put the out during the days, and put into the shed....waiting for greenhouse to be delivered. They seem ok and are starting to show new leaves (no flowers) just worried with the pending frost it would kill them off. I'm new to strawberries.

Mine are in pots at the moment waiting to be planted in the bed (behind schedule as usual!). I leave them out all year as they are fully hardy to our english weather. I'm certainly no expert at strawbs but I believe they need a good severe cold spell to bring them out of dormancy.
I you'st to have a handle on the world .. but it BROKE!!
