  • Dahlia from seed?

    Do they flower that year?

Yes, they grow quickly and will flower in the summer. Get the seeds in now.

The dahlias from seed give a great return even on the first year and will continue flowering until the first frosts.
Plenty of selection of seeds from pom pom to collards to single flower varieties.

And when your back stops aching,
And your hands begin to harden.
You will find yourself a partner,
In the glory of the garden.

I grew bishops singles last year - I gave loads away - but the ones that I kept were some of my favorites. The big dahlias are beautiful but I found the singles perfect to cut for indoors. Constant supply of flowers
