I have had a lot of success with Greek Basil. I generally sow it April in the greenhouse, but a warm window cill works. I sow the seeds and give a layer of vermiculite. Love the more intense flavour of this herb, just chopping off what you need. Good luck. -

Seeds have been in for a few days now. 8 inch terocotta pot on a sunny window sill.
No sign yet.

Not grown any for a while but used to start ours off in the heated (non thermostat) prop. Think we kept it in a pot in the greenhouse but next door kept theirs on the windowsill.

Well if they don't appear I will try them in my propagator in the greenhouse.
I built it 30 years ago and it currently needs a bit of maintenance.
Once sorted the chilli seeds will go in and perhaps some greek basil.

The basil seeds that I started in the prop came through well. For the last few weeks have had them on a sunny windowstill. Now getting their first true leaves and was thinking I should pot hem on now? The wee tray they are in is the one from the prop and I could do with getting it back to use for other things . What should I do next? If I repot I could keep inside a bit longer or move to the gh. Still a bit cold out there though - its unheated.Comment
