  • Unknown shrubs/bushes!

I have the following three bushes (is that what they're called??!!) on my allotment, they are wildly overgrown, and need trimming back, but I have no idea what they are - and without waiting for summer for them to bud and grow, I won't know, so I'm turning to your expertise to see if you can identify them!

    Thanks all in advance!

(sorry the plot is pretty messy, just took it over around 5 months ago and I'm steadily working through, digging it all up in beds for some planting this year, and hopefully to max the plot next year)

Let's narrow it down without pictures!!
            Do they have thorns?

            Are there fat buds?

If you rub the buds/stems do they smell of blackcurrants?

Are there any dried up fruits/flowers/leaves?

Are they planted in a row?

Are they in the middle of the plot or at the edge?

Is there a main trunk and branches going off above ground?

Seeing as Dropbox wants to download all my contacts list - I don't think I want to look in there, thank you

                  Thanks all

Hi all, thanks for your responses and sorry not to have replied sooner

I had a good chat to someone who has another allotment and they told me they were red currants, so we're all good!

                  Thanks again
