  • What to sow now, mid Sep 19

    Good afternoon,

Just wondering what you fine knowledgeable people are sowing at this time of year, either for a quick growing veg or something to continue on until spring next year?

Winter lettuce, giant winter spianch, tatsoi, pak choi, wong bok, komatsuna, kale for baby leaves. All to be grown in the greenhouse or under mini polytunnels on the raised beds.

marvel of 4 seasons, great idea, thanks
Can this variety be used as a cut and come again?

I’ve sown mixed lettuce, mooli, Raab broccoli, spinach and pac choi all in polytunnel. Dying to get garlic and onion sets and broad beans down but it’s a wee bit early yet.

Just keep picking the outter leaves - each plant lasts for a lot longer that way

Winter cabbage seedlings in the poly tunnel, same with beetroot, carrots, spring onions and onion seeds for spring planting, some beet spinach seems to be seedling ok, also lettuce.

I will be sowing some cauliflower (Snowball) to overwinter in the growhouse. This worked very well last year, overwintered in modules and planted out mid March, they were ready to eat in June.
