Moving into a cottage with a tiny garden has meant some fun experiments to see how much can be grown in a small area. I’ve found square foot growing, pots (of course), trays of micro greens and vertical growing great tools, and will look back on this season as a real gardening education (not least in convincing OH that bolting lettuce looks ‘architectural’). This winter we will clear a larger area elsewhere but I think this patch will remain my favourite.

Thanks guys, the BBC (or some other channel) re-ran Alys Fowler’s Edible Garden earlier in the year which kind of inspired me.
Bren, yes it’s truly amazing how much produce. Do I take it you grow a lot ‘in pots’?

I still grow a fair bit in pots and troughs mostly its courgettes, potatoes, lettuce, carrots and herbs.Location....East Midlands.Comment

What a lovely garden! It looks about the same size as mine. I have started growing a fair bit vertically, to make even better use of the space

Thank you, but I’m sure that’s not the case I am lucky in that the log cabin and stone walls give everything a quaint backdrop.
