    Sicilian Allium (Garlic)

    I understand that the bulbs of Sicilian Allium are edible. I have lots growing in the flower beds to the point that it is becoming a bit invasive and I am going to have to dig some out. Rather than throw them away if they are edible I would like to use them.

    Anyone tried them? Thanks

    Oh! I didn't think the bulbs were edible ? only that you can use the leaves like chives...

      It seems that they are used in Bulgaria where it is known as Honey Garlic. It’s a bit difficult to get much info. from Tinternet which is why I am asking.

        I found this site where a comment at the bottom says you grind the leaves with salt, then leave it to dry to use as a herb salt, or use the leaves fresh in a salad. There's a link to another page on there, that also has comments to say you can dry the leaves that are then used to make tea.

        No uses for the bulbs that I can find. I think the flowers are very pretty though!
