Help friends and quick please! I soaked my prepared 6 lbs of plums in sugar last night only to remember just now that last time I made plum jam I cooked them first before adding the sugar! I can't separate them - will it work if I cook it slowly then boil it rapidly? Oh heck

Oh dear! Cooking very very gently is the only thing to try - unless you are prepared to wash the sugar off? spose this would mean losing some of the plum juice, so not ideal..

    Good luck!

Thanks Thelma and great minds think alike - as I've just told Bren, it's in the jars at the mercy of the setting fairy

Should be fine, that's how I always make plum jam.

Some I'd put in a little dish has set already, so really pleased Roitelet. I'll do the other 3 lbs tomorrow in the same way
