  • Microwave jam/marmalade?

Does anyone have a recipe for making one jar of jam or marmalade in the microwave? A friend told me her sister does this but has never got the "secret" recipe from her.

I've made jam in the microwave when I only had a small amount of fruit and it was very easy. I just checked it more frequently. It was a quick and convenient way to make a small amount.

If you buy Tate & Lyle jam sugar, I believe there's a microwave jam recipe on the packet.

I have just found this recipe but it makes 2 jars not one.

The scary thing is this means there is half a pound of sugar in each jar.

The 'normal' jam recipes use 3lb sugar to make 5lb jam......
I have used the microwave to cook the fruit (even for marmalade) but always transfered to a saucepan for boiling up with sugar....
