How do I dry out orange slices for decoration without a dehydrator?

slice them thinly, thread some string through, hang up somewhere dry -

Try slicing them thinly and putting on a wire cake rack in the oven on its very lowest setting. They will take several hours to dry -maybe overnight.When the Devil gives you Cowpats - make Satanic Compost!

I would have said the oven option, if you have a Rayburn/Aga that would be ideal, but even a conventional oven would be ok. I did apple slices 2 years ago like that, and still have a few left.Bob Leponge

I, too, would have said the oven option. Another thing my OH and I used to do was burn some of the dried slices when we ran out of air freshener.
