  • Chutney or Jam??

A few weeks ago i made some green tomato chutney from a recipe that i found on the vine but having tried some of it today, it's more like jam 'cause it's sooo sweet.

I was so proud of my little kilners full of 'first try chutney' and now I'm terribly disappointed. Is there any chance that it'll get better if i leave it for a few more weeks d'ya think?

    Any advice would be appreciated!

Leave it a while yet and you may be pleasantly surprised. Which particular recipe did you follow ?

I've been known to tip the chutney/jam back into the pan to 'correct' the flavour or the set - with no ill effects (make sure you wash and resterilize the jars of course!)
