    Hello Forum,

My name is Nick, I have been gardening since 2011 consistently, originally from Cambridge now in my third year in Beccles. I have two allotments one which is set aside for veggies and herbs the other which is under construction as a nursery for bedding perennials and biennials and soft fruit and trees. I have tentatively started learning about cuttings and grafting plants. Currently sowing early veg and flowers seed. My favourite plants are big showy Dahlias which I accept are not to everyone's taste, My chief adversary is bind weed.

      Welcome Nick
If you've been growing since 2011, you don't qualify as "inexperienced" - sorry. Let us know what you're sowing at the moment - we're a nosey lot!!
There's a Dahlia thread at https://www.growfruitandveg.co.uk/gr...es_100655.html. Scarlet will be delighted that there's another Dahlia enthusiast here.

For the curious I am currently sowing...

Onion: Red Brunswick, Walla Walla, Bedfordshire Champion, Kosma, Long Red Florence, Red Baron.
Tomato: Roma, Brandywine, Tigerella, Moneymaker, Yellow Delight, Gardener's Delight, Golden Sunrise, Cherry?
          Pepper: Sweet Mix, Colour Spectrum,
          Leek: Blue De Solaise

The number of tomato varieties is indicative of me wanting to learn grafting and I have never had a shortage of tomato plants come march...

Hi and Welcome to the vine.

Nosey question - where abouts are the allotments in Beccles? I used to live in Shipmeadow quite a few years ago. Beccles used to be a lovely market town.

Any questions just ask even the daft ones there is usually someone about to answer.

My bil is a tad Dahlia mad, he has greenhouses, allotment and home are dedicated to them. And always remember him buying his estate car on the boot space and height for transporting his Show Dahlias ...

                              Hello Norfolkgrey,

You would no doubt be relieved to hear that Beccles is still a lovely market town there are actually quite a few allotment sites in Beccles. There are two accessible from the A146, one site across the Rail crossing from a B&M and there are a further three sites down Common Lane. I believe there are more going north of Beccles in the direction of Bungay, I very rarely head that way.
