  • hi from northampton

    Hello,

my names Andy and Im from Northampton. I have trained as a pro chef, but gave it all up years ago (wish I had'nt now though), my passion is food and I have a website with all my favourite recipes and my blog.
I love growing as much as I can, and avoiding supermarkets as much as possible.

    Andy

Nettles take me right back to my A levels. We had a lovely but completely dotty 6th Form Head who insisted we had nettle soup and nettle salad for lunch and took long and healthy walks! All de rigueur now, but way ahead of the trend back in the late 60's... My favourite qaysie food is Good King Henry (or goosefoot or Lincolnshire spinach, whatever). Not only is it better than ordinary spinach, but you can treat the seed heads like asparagus. Cook lightly, dip in melted butter and run your teeth along the stem to get that nutty flavour.
I too am a newbie, but what a lovely site to start with.
Yesterday is a memory, tomorrow is a mystery and today is a gift, which is why it is called the present.
