  • Hello from Northants!

    Hello everyone,

I have just managed to find this thread so thought I would pop in and introduce myself!
At present i'm living in a tiny cottage but it has about an acre on the back, this was one just a paddock, flat field with rubbish strewn everywhere, over the last 8 years it has changed very much and is now gardens and orchard, plus there is a natural pond as a bonus.

I like to grow my own, from flowers, shrubs, fruit and veg, it is not just the good life, it is I do not want any chemicals in my food! So I have made all my own compost, I started off with organic seed and have used them every year since I always grown climbing French beans and runners, onions, garlic, potoatoes, some form of squash and chillies, though this year I did not get around to those due to work.

Anyway, I came to the forum because I wanted to share something bizarre and I have written about it under vegetables, I would alos like some advice as all my apple trees were aphid bound... so lots of questions!

Hello Mrs Greenfingers and a very warm welcome to the Forum
Your "tiny" cottage and acre of garden sounds idyllic.
You'll soon find your way around the Forum and, if you find you've posted in the wrong place, we can always move for you. Just ask
