  • Hello from a newbie London patio gardener!

    Hi everyone

Just wanted to say hello and thank everybody for the many answers I found here. I'm new to gardening - well, I worked many times in my parents' garden, but only started out on my own this year.
We have a small patio, but I tried to make use of all the space available.
You can see in the photos how it looked in March, when we moved in, and how it looks now.
We have more than 40 tomato plants, different varieties, lettuce, beans, peas, peppers, a few cucumbers, all kind of herbs, most of them grown from seed, and some flowers. We've also grown garlic and green onions. Tomatoes are doing wonderful and are full of fruit and flowers, can't wait to taste them.
I've also given away on freecycle more than 20 tomato plants that I grew from side-shoots, and also peppers and cucumbers.

The patio is a bit shady, but so far everything's been fine. We are really happy with what we've managed, it's certainly worth every effort.

So, glad to be here with so many other gardening enthusiasts, it's a lovely community a great place to find answers to any question you may have as a beginner.
