Welcome to you in the Highlands - (I spent a long time up there a few years ago and loved it) - This is a great site, lovely people and lots of knowledge.

Hi and welcome. Coreopsis is one of my favourite flowers! What are your plans for the garden?

          Hello everybody
I got some veg seeds for the next year(tomatoes, cucumbers),herbs(I had herb rockery this year and lovely to pinch fresh parsley, basil, dill, chives, rosemary and so on...
I'm not sure about the veg yet-started to think about polytunnel but definitely there will be something as I missed thet like hell.
Flowers-this year I had some annuals but growing some perennials for next year.Going to add some more(coreopsis will be one of them)

            Hi Coreopsis
You're probably the closest I have to a neighbour on the Vine - I'm in Tain, Ross-shire.
You'll get all the advice you'll ever need right here.

Alice,a lot of my posts will be absolute rubbish-just empty yapping(typical woman I'm afraid)
Sewer Rat,I've been watching this forum for a while and noticed that you are not too far away from my place-there's not so many people so far north to ask about the gardening stuff-because of the location we are a bit behind the rest(climate not the best)
Thank you everybody for warm welcome

It looks like there's more people from the north than I expected but it's good.
Last couple of years I had a small plastic tent(disposable greenhouse). We had to take it down as it got badly worn(the cover wasn't UV-proof and it's sometimes very windy here as well).
This year I didn't have much due to some movements in the garden-just the herb rockery and some strawberries-no veggies at all.Next year I'm going to have some veggies as I really missed it.I'm not a big fan of container growing and I have to leave some space for the dog to go.
So far I dug over a piece of ground about 3.5 m long and 1.5 wide and(after digging out the ground elder)and don't know yet if to dig any further and make the lawn smaller(probably I'll have to if I want to grow some more).
Raising beds is not an option as this is a temporary location for the veg plot-still waiting for OH to clear the best sunny spot in the corner and looking forward to moving over there.
I was hoping to get it done this year but it didn't happen so I'll either get myself the other place to grow(sorry doggie) or end up with nearly nothing(which happened this year).

                          Hello Coreopsis,

Always nice to find someone else from bonnie Scotland on here!

I'm in West Lothian - so not exactly a neighbour, but it's close enough!!

                          Enjoy the Vine!!
I love to talk about nothing. It's the only thing I know anything about!!
