    Welcome Karl
There is always lots of support and advice on here from the Grapes.
I expect one will be along in a mo.
Cant help you with the winter veg as this is my first year and I am still trial and erroring myself.

      Hi and welcome.
Top tip: you need to start planning your winter veggies in April/May, if you grow from seed.
If you leave it late, you can still pick up plants at the GC (see various other threads that are bouncing around at the moment on "what to grow now")

Depends on what you like to eat Karl. Leeks, purple sprouting broccoli, kale, parsnips?

Oh, we have plenty of queries on here - and we can certainly do strange questions.

Bit like loose-leaf cabbage. I like curly kale - have a look on some of the seed merchant sites.
