    Hi Ashley

    Welcome aboard.

In my opinion, gardening is like art - everyone can do it, just depends on what you consider to be art/gardening.

Like you, I started out a couple of years ago knowing pretty much close to nothing about gardening, or so I thought. You'll surprise yourself just how much you do know and how quickly you'll pick up the rest.

Every day's a school day as far as gardening is concerned - you'll find new stuff out all the time, and make mistakes along the way.

Whatever you do, make sure you enjoy doing it and the rest will just happen.

You've made the most important discovery already - this place.

Keep us posted, and good luck.

Well, i dont know how bad the allotment is at the moment. So from what im reading i know i need to get the soil right as the soil should have been turned weeded and covered in manure to get it right by now and get soil warming? So i thought about doing some planters and just gunna try some veg's that we eat like carrots, potatos, peas, and whatever else i can get my hads on. Tomorrow when i go im gunna measure properly and plan my plot. Also we are getting chickens!!! I cant wait to get them!
Im gunna take my camera there tomorrow so will up some pics Thanks for the warm welcome

                      Hi and welcome.
Apart from weeding (which you should do) - don't worry too much.
I have never manured in my life, nor warmed my soil.

                          Welcome Ashley,
I was given these tips when I took on my plot:

Do a little often or you will either do your back in or just get fed up with it (I think that is an excuse to stand around chatting to other lottie holders)

Never let the weeds see a Sunday. (Get a hoe!)

Possibly the best advice in the world. Good luck!

                              Welcome Ashley.
Terminology is something I'm not sure I can even spell let alone understand, but I do know that whenever I dont know something (pretty much always) I ask on here and someone does.

                              Enjoy your new allotment.
