  • Hello from Cheltenham

Relatively new to veg growing but recently moved into a house with large garden and 6 apple trees, alas not in good condition!

Hello and welcome to the Forum.
Maybe all your apple trees need is a bit of pruning and TLC to bring them back into condition?
When you've made a few more posts you'll be able to add some photos and someone here should be able to advise you.
    Enjoy your new garden.

Hi and welcome. I'm a newbie too!
The trouble with having an open mind, of course, is that people will insist on coming along and trying to put things in it.

Hi, no shortage of advice on here and even larger range of nutters - as for the apple trees its almost certain that unless they are more than 100 years old, that something useful can be done with them - a good first step is usually cutting out any dead wood and then removing any grass/weeds which may have grown around the trunks.

                Hello and welcome!

If you have only just moved, remember to keep any cardboard boxes you unpack - particularly the larger ones. Once flattened and de-taped they are very handy for putting over strimmed/trampled weeds in the garden to exclude light and weaken/kill off the weeds underneath ;-)

                  Welcome from me also...
I also have my own 'allotment' in my garden... You just can't beat walking out of your back door first thing in the morning to inspect your 'plot'... And then realising an hour later you haven't even combed your hair, brushed your teeth, you've just chucked on (clothes wise) whatever was lying on the bedroom floor and when you go back into the kitchen you're sure you 'just' boiled the kettle for a cuppa and now it's cold!
