  • Hello from Angus :)

    Hello all!

Recently started subscribing to the mag and saw what a lively and information packed forum you have here, as well as the friendly nature of the community... So here I am! 😀
I'm currently a container gardener (due to being a renter) with much success over the last 6 years. It also made moving two years ago easier with all my hard work kept intact, although we now have a NNE oriented garden which has made me up my game. I grew up on a permaculture smallholding so it's been an interesting transition with trial and error along the way. I managed to get on the allotment waiting list but it's a long list with low turnover so may be a while.

I primarily love growing pumpkins/squash and tomatoes and always try something new and unusual each year if possible. Look forward to contributing where I can and garnering the advice of seasoned gardeners.

      Hi Mudsweatandtea and welcome

Since you like growing all things squashy, may I invite you to enter our Tromba Competition 2019?

Good luck with the allotment waiting game.

        Ooh, definitely intrigued....

I'm planning galeux d'eyesine, New England sugar pie, delicata and Jack be little (this is my new one this year for the kiddies) so will see if I can devote a pot to this 😁 thanks for the link

Grow the Trombas for the kiddies too - they'll be fascinated by the shapes and sizes and they're good for eating too (that's the trombas, not the kiddies )

Thought I'd better clarify that as there are some on the forum who delight in mocking me.

Haha I'm sure the kids would make good eating too if the veg comes to nothing 😂

They probably would, all have green fingers and love getting hands on in the spring. May even make this their project 🤔

Don't suppose anyone knows why I can't edit my profile pic or details? 😕 I just keep getting error messages. Green fingers but almost zero computer literacy 😂

You need to make a few more posts before you can edit your profile and, probably, post images.
Its just a little test to make sure that new users are genuine and not spammers. Keep posting and you'll soon be there.

Hi and welcome Mudsweatandtears! I hope you will find this place as friendly and helpful as I do!
I've grown the trombos that Veggiechicken talks about and they're amazing.

I have two plots, both of which are my experimental no dig space this year. I've never done it before, but so looking forward to spring!
